Current NewsShelter to Open in Montauk September 3, 2010 At 10:00 a.m., the Suffolk County Chapter of the American Red Cross will open a voluntary evacuation shelter at the Montauk Playhouse Community Center, 12 Flamingo Avenue, Montauk, N.Y. There, residents or tourists who feel unsafe in their homes can ride out the storm. The shelter will be able to support up to 150 people with cots, blankets and comfort supplies. |
